“It has been decided to resume flights to and from the Kingdom of Morocco starting from Tuesday, June 15, 2021, within the framework of exceptional permissions, given the fact that the Kingdom’s airspace is still relatively closed” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad reported.The report indicated that these measures are based on the positive indicators of the pandemic situation in the Kingdom and the decrease in the number of infections with the emerging coronavirus, especially after the expansion of vaccination campaigns in the country, and the Moroccan authorities taking new gradual measures to ease restrictions on the movement of travelers wishing to enter the national territory, aim to facilitate The return of Moroccans residing abroad to their homeland.
This process will take place, the notice adds, according to an approach that combines gradual openness of taking into account the development of the national and international epidemiological situation, and mantaining the advancement made by the nation to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.
In this context, countries were classified into two lists, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, based on the official epidemiological data published by the World Health Organization or those countries themselves through their official sources.
List “A” includes all countries that have positive indicators with regard to controlling the pandemic situation. Travelers coming from these countries – whether they are Moroccan citizens, or foreigners residing in Morocco, or citizens of those countries or Foreigners residing in it – Can get into Moroccan territory if they have a vaccination certificate and/or a negative PCR test result that goes back to less than 48 hours from the date of entry into the national territory.Holders of foreign vaccination certificates will benefit from the same privileges granted by the Moroccan vaccination certificate to Moroccan citizens within the national territory.
As for List “B”, it includes an exclusive list of all countries that are not concerned with the mitigation measures contained in List “A”. The communiqué highlighted that travelers coming from the countries included in this list “B” must obtain exceptional permission before traveling, hand in a negative PCR test that goes back to less than 48 hours from the date of entering the national territory, and then undergo a 10-day quarantine. The list of countries included in lists “A” and “B” will be published on a regular basis on the websites of the ministries in charge of foreign affairs, health and tourism. The two regulations will be subject to a periodic update, at least twice a month and whenever necessary.
